Baidu Mobile SEO Measurement Tool – Feature and Application

On June 20th, 2014, Baidu Webmaster Tools announced its upgrade on the feature of keywords queries, with which webmasters can separate queries from mobile and web, and monitor the performance of mobile SEO campaign easier than before.
Besides monitoring whether the queries are from Web or mobile side, it also offers data analysis broken down on the types of the pages on which those Click Throughs land. Like we introduced last week that one of Baidu mobile SEO options for websites without mobile site is to use Baidu’s Mobile Site Converter, therefore besides mobile page and PC/web page, there is a third type of pages, called transcoding page that Baidu offers webmaster to analyze.
Generally speaking mobile search tends to have higher Click Through Rate then web search, it’s even higher if you have mobile page optimized for mobile queries. The pictures below indicates that the performance in terms of CTR for mobile SEO is way beyond web SEO. The blue line is number of impression, and red is number of clicks.  It clearly shows though mobile SEO may not be able to generate that many of impressions, 100 from mobile vs. 10,000 from web, it does shy out web SEO for more than 20% CTR, while web is only less than 2%.
Baidu Webmaster Tools are getting better than before, and even in certain aspects, like mobile it has surpassed GWT. Let’s see what the next big thing it will bring to us.
