Baidu’s New Algorithm Means to Hit Paid Links

Baidu Anti-spam Team is catching up with Matt Cutts by releasing its Lv Luo algorithm update on Feb. 19th. Lv Luo is the Chinese name of the plant naming Scindapsus Aureus, which is often placed indoor to absorb toxic air by Chinese residents. Like its name indicates, Baidu Lv Luo Algorithm is mean to clean up the environment of SEO industry by reducing the indexation and keywords ranking of websites that involve paid links.

Three kinds of websites have been warned by Baidu anti-spam team in the statement. Websites that selling links, websites buying links and websites playing medium will be affected.

However, websites that I find will be most vulnerable will be websites paying for the links during the hit. Websites that selling links usually are big vertical portals, and most of them have stable return visits and Baidu is not their main traffic source. While link trading agents have always keep in a low profile, so is their websites. That leaves websites buying link with the biggest stake in the link trading deal, and will be affected mostly by the this Baidu algorithm update.
