Yesterday I posted that you can generate Rich Snippet view on Baidu SERP by submitting your site’s structured data to Baidu. However due to the complexity of technical execution and its never-ending Beta testing period (so far only invited Baidu Webmaster Tools member is granted with that feature), a large number of websites owner are looking for alternative to achieve that effects. Thanks to the Baidu inhouse competition, Baidu’s Onsite Search team has been working hard on launching a new feature that can achieve that effects if you simply add the Baidu Onsite Search engine into your website.
How it works?
Most people may have the experiences of adding Google Onsite Search on your website before. Adding Baidu onsite search engine is quite similar.
Step 1: Register a Baidu Webmaster Tools account and verify your ownership of the website.
Step2: Go to Baidu Onsite Search Engine site, and select which part of the website that you want to create an onsite search engine for.
Step 3: Create a name for Your Onsite Search Engine, which will be displayed on your browser as Page Title. For example, you may want to name it in the structure like “product term | brand term Onsite Search|” to achieve the most onpage SEO effects.
Step 4: Select a template that you want to use for your onsite search pages.
Step 5: Generate Your Onsite Search code and paste on your HTML pages in the body part.
Step 6: Then you will find a search button (powered by Baidu) appears on your website.
How does it helps on your Rich Snippet on Baidu SERP? Please see the visual effects on my previous blog.
